Sanibel Island

Before Aspen left, we had to take her to the beach!  We went to Sanibel Island.  My sister and brother-in-law (Michon and Rick) had been there before and had suggested it.  It was about an hour and fifteen minute drive from Ave Maria.  The closest beach is about 45 minutes away.  Though we haven't been to that one yet, this one was well worth the drive!  It was beautiful and also is known for "shelling."  So, we had a picnic lunch, swam a little and dug for shells.

Joseph was trying to catch the birds!  He did really well for his first time at the beach.  At first, he was scared of the waves (they were coming in pretty fast and hard) but then we sat down on the very edge and he was loving it.  But then he found a big truck in the parking lot and kept wanting to leave the beach to go see it!
